YOU SHOULD BE PUMPING ?

The PUMP saved my life!

by Shannon Atanas Shannon@hotmail.com

My name is Shannon Atanas and I have had Diabetes for almost 14 years now. I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 4 years old, just before my fifth birthday. I am currently on an insulin pump and was the first young adult in my city (Hamilton,Ont) to be on the pump. I'm 18 years old and the pump has saved my life. Without the pump I would've been in serious danger down the road. I was what they use to call a "Brittle" diabetic. I recieved my pump through a great charity called S.U.G.A.R. I recieved the pump when I was 14 years of age. I was also the first person to receive a pump through the S.U.G.A.R. charity. Today I'm helping people get the life they deserve by being on a pump. I'm on the board of S.U.G.A.R. and it has so far been a great experience. The pump saved my life and it can save other people's lives too. I've always dreamed of life without Diabetes and though it hasn't happened yet the pump is the closest I've gotten to that dream.
