Gabriel Bedard

As a diabetic for the past 26 years, I feared I would have a child with diabetes. Gabriel was diagnosed 2 weeks after starting kindergarten at age 5. He had been wetting his bed, drinking lots of water...so I did a BG before he left for school...1 hour later, we were at the hospital. Things we're fine for 4 years...then, pre-adolescence came. BG's we're way up in the sky or really low. When Gaby turned 10, I thought he was ready for the pump. So, seven weeks ago,(thanks to Gaby's Grandpa) both mother and son switch to pumping. Life has been wonderful since then. I feel like a new person. My son is happy, he looks in control of his own destiny.

Thanks to the pump, we are free.
