[IPk] teaching/counselling/advice only role?

I could well be approaching the end of my current career for various
Anyone want to employ an experienced medic (qualified 20 yrs) with 30+ yrs
IDDM and nearly 3 years pumping under her belt (no, I don't PUMP there, you
know what I mean! :-) ),teaching/counselling/adviceonly?
OK, I live in hope...:-)

Hi Mary

All the talk at workforce development meetings etc seems to be pointing to
using 'expert patient' experience to assist in the neglected essential area
of diabetes education, for both professionals and patients. Some of it is
typically trying to get something for nothing, I've been asked to be a
volunteer tutor on a general piloted group education course for people with
a variety of chronic conditions, plans are if you believe them to then pilot
some disease specific modules. I'll do the tutoring in the hope that maybe
it could lead to some role in diabetes education.

Seriously, you could provide such a good service. I expect we are at
opposite ends of the UK but it makes me think of American specialist clinics
where doctor, nurse, dietician and psychologist work together in a practice
providing care for people with diabetes. Often they are pump users
themselves. Is there a dietician and psychologist out there? We could be a
referral centre for the NHS!!!! Dreaming.
