It depends ... do you already know what you are eating, and change the
amount of insulin you inject depending on what it is?
If so, then the basic pump course (how to fill it, how to get the
cannula into you, etc.) is enough.
In many ways, it's an age thing: years ago, all diabetics were taught to
monitor their carbohydrate intake (usually same amount, same time, each
day). But some of us worked out how to do DAFNE for ourselves!
