[IPk] monitoring

the only "guideline" I can recall is a bulletin published by the National
Prescribing Centre which stated that intensive monitoring is beneficial only
if the patient is able to adjust insulin appropriately, which is clearly the
case if on a pump or MDI
Trouble is primary care doesn't have to directly pick up the tab of
complications and problems occuring as a result of insufficient monitoring,
unless you count increased use of glucagon!
