Re: [IPk] re:humalog and pregnancy..a postscript!

hi ingrid, you never know, the docs may let you go over 38 weeks, when i was
preg with my 1st son 6 years ago i was told it was hospital policy to
insduce at 38 weeks but as everything went so well, i wasnt induced until i
was over 39 weeks and only then as my blood pressure rose a bit, i gave
birth to a lovely healthy 6lb 10 oz baby boy. im sure i could have been left
to go into labour naturally and i feel it is wrong for all diabetic pregs to
be classed the same, in my last preg i needed an emergency section at 37
weeks , and that was fine because it was necessary, but i dont believe all
diabetics should be induced at 38 weeks, during my first 2 labours i even
escaped the dreaded sliding scale drip, and managed great without it.
i hope everything goes well for you.
love gail type 1 22 years.
