[IPk] Barabara re MDI

Regarding MDI: it usually means 4 or more injections per day ( Assuming 3
meals) but often more ie 2 injections of long or intermediate acting insulin
may be needed for good control ie total of 5 injections. Glargine may help
here if basal insulin requirements do not vary much from one part of the day
to the next
I imagine if your control is good on twice daily insulin, it would be fairly
easy to get used to multiple injections and benefit from the increased
flexibility regarding mealtimes, so you wouldn't feel left out when Danielle
can miss a snack, delay a meal or have a treat. Pumps are a superb means of
control but many people can get good control and flexibility on MDI
