Hi Danni
I think you miss my point. My point was not that you shouldn't find 
yourself in that situation. And it's not that you shouldn't follow any 
rules. It's that I still don't see that there's anything different you 
need to do in that situation that you wouldn't do for moderately high 
BGs. I don't believe there's some magic point above which my body starts 
behaving totally differently - things just get more severe as the BG 
increases and as ketones develop, and thus you need gradually more 
aggressive treatment as you go up the scale of high BGs and ketones. I'm 
not dismissing the importance of treating DKA (or any high BG) fast and 
taking it seriously.
Does that make more sense?
