In that case you could just be sitting up straight or lying down.
I find lying down is great for inserting in the upper stomach.
To be honest that's the same for any set.
And if you're inserting in the lower stomach, you could be sitting, 
standing, lying down, standing on your head, and it wouldn't make a 
difference to the tautness of the muscles (well for me anyway as my 
lower stomach is a bit flabby whatever position I'm in!)
