[IPk] Glargine & Novorapid instead of pump

Hi everybody,

Perhaps a pump gets ever closer. Or perhaps I am now on the 3rd way.

Earlier this week I spent some time at my Diabetes centre. After much
discussion with the Specialist nurse there I decided to change to a lantus
regime, using Glargine and Novorapid. The nurse doesn't think it will be 100%
ideal for me, but it might work out. Her main reason for suggesting I try it is
that the Scottish Drugs Consortium have apparently added a rider to the NICE
recommendations, and stated that a pump and consumables can be provided on the
NHS if someone cannot get their fasting blood sugars below 6.5. We'll see.

In the meantime I would be grateful for any tips any of you who have used
Glargine and/or Novorapid might have (I'm injecting the Glargine at around
10:30pm.

Thanks,

Graham
