Re: [IPk] editorial in medical journal

Abigail I am so grateful someone said this. My depression came on two years
ago when I discovered I had several complications at once. Since that time I
have been unwell most days and as a result of that I have had loads of time
off sick from work. This in turn makes me feel more down and isolated. I
have had counselling, psychotherapy and now await another referral for the
depression to "find a pill that works". Of course taking more pills isn't
the answer but possible in short term measure...and there lies my dilemma as
my diabetes and it's complications and the endless run of infections are
long term. I see a pump as my only hope of better control which in turn
would lift my spirits no end. If Doctors were concerned for a persons mental
health in relation to using the pump correctly they could monitor that with
the patient. After all I may be a statistic for depression but how come I
still manage four injections, up to 8 blood tests and ketone tests and keep
most of my appointments with the various consultants?:)I'm depressed because
I'm uncontrolled and while I'm uncontrolled I don't have a life.
Blimey if I've gone on abit, please accept my apologies. I don't often get a
chance to say anything like that as no one likes to mention it when they
know you are depressed...:)
