The rapid is an infusion set with the needle at 90 degrees to the run of the
tubing.  The needles come in a range of lengths 6mm - 12 mm  (John N
probably had problems because the needle length was too long) and a range of
tube lengths 60cm -110 cm

You cannot detach the tube from the needle as you can with the Tender.

Some people find the Rapid easier to insert.
