Re: [IPk] Coeliac Disease

Re: Coeliac Disease/IBS/Yeast Intolerance

Hi Tom

I was diagnosed with IBS in 1988 after barium tests and had all the
symptoms of IBS apart from pain. In recent years, two diabetic coeliac
friends were convinced I was coeliac, through various problems I had soon
after eating when out with them on many occasions and my problems seemed to
be worsening

My diabetes centre has tested me several times for coeliac disease, and
results were negative.

After posting on here regarding my problems a year or more ago, Di
suggested a possible yeast intolerance, so I started having yeast free
bread, and my system now operates almost normally, which I find amazing. I
still drink wine, which doesn't seem to affect my digestive system at all -
I assume because the yeast in that is processed differently.

I am currently occasionally eating bread with yeast in, as my husband is
very ill in hospital, so I have been unable to get to either of my 2
suppliers of yeast free bread, which is not widely available, but symptoms
have not yet returned - fingers crossed!

Margaret.
