[IPk] INPUT Weekend Event
Many thanks to all the people who responded to my original message about
this. I'm sorry I wasn't able to respond to everyone individually.
I'm very impressed with the level of enthusiasm. We are about to atrt moving
into actively planning this event, so I wanted to give anyone who missed the
original message, or didn't have the chance to respond, an opportunity to
add their comments.
The original message is copied below:
INPUT is considering holding a national weekend event for insulin pump users
in the UK. We are interested in finding out how much interest and enthusiasm
there would be for such an event before going forward with the planning.
The actual format is obviously yet to be decided, but to give you some
ideas, we would be looking at holding the event over a couple of days, with
an overnight hotel stay, in a fairly central location. There would be both
talks from experts and plenty of time to meet with other pumpers and
exchange ideas and experiences, as well as socializing! It is likely that
there would be specific sessions for parents of pumpers, and obviously
supervision/education for the kids themselves. There would be some cost
involved, but we would hope to keep this as low as possible.
John Pickup has already promised his support, provided that he is on the
country at the time of the event!!
Obviously this event will be for YOU. We need to know if people would be
interested in this idea otherwise it simply will not happen. So if you think
there is any possibility that this might be for you, please let us know.
