Re: [IPk] new to pump and all sets failed so far!

I would reiterate all that John Neale says, with the exception of the
Quick-Set infusion set. The inserter is not an integral part of the set, it
is completely separate. The Quick-Set can be inserted manually without an
inserter, indeed for many months I did so, although I have now returned to
using the inserter.

Medtronic are the only company who produce an inserter for their infusion
sets which are available in the UK market. These are:

Quick-Serter Code No: MMT-395 Use with the Quick Set
Sof-Serter Code No: MMT-300 Use with the Sof Set
Sil-Serter Code No: MMT-385 Use with the Silhouette

New sets, which include the Smiths Medical (Deltec) "Cleo" and the
Unomedical "Inset", are 90 degree sets and both have the inserter as an
integral part of the set.

Unfortunately, they are not as yet available in the UK! Lets hope they soon
will be.

John Davis
