RE: [IPk] new to pump and all sets failed so far!
Hi Pat,
What you have mentioned here makes a lot of sense and I would like Alex
to try the various sets out to see what suits her best. Would each set
have a different inserter? Will all three sets be available
irrespective of which pump we get for Alex?
Alex will use saline first, I'm just wondering if Marie would have known
things weren't working if Findley had gone on saline first or if she
only knew that things weren't working because of the high levels due to
the insulin not getting through?
Being new to this and not there yet just talking out loud as this is
something we will need to work through in the next month or two. I'm
making lots of notes so thanks to all.
Marion

Quicksets are notorious for 'bending' in some people.
Ask your nurse for some soft-sets and silhouettes, and see if you get on
with those better.
Personally, I think it scandalous that you were let out the hospital
without the serter, and without a range of sets to experiment with.
Also, why weren't you started on saline, so that you could have a week
of 'dual running', getting confident with the sets and bolusing on the
pump, in parallel to still using injections for the insulin????
Cheers,
Pat
