The pump 'off time' depends upon how high you can allow your BG to rise. BGs
tend to rise more quickly than with a delayed injection (because there's no
previous insulin pool slowly absorbing). My BGs rise by 2 - 5mmol/hour with
the pump off (depending on the time of day). It's best to try this before
starting swimming and a normal starting BG is better than a high one. Of
course, the mmol/hr figure may be reduced by swimming.
