Re: [IPk] UK Pumpers

Hi John,
I don't know who else is on here so I'm sending this to the list in
case anyone else is interested.

I agree with you completely.
I have wanted to go on the pump for years but never thuoght it was possible.
Now I am awaiting its arrival and hope to be starting within a few weeks.
My doctor has several people on the pump. However, he never suggested it to me as an option, largely, I suspect, because of the cost.
When I asked him about it, havimg acquired that actual pump from
another source, he thought it was a great idea. Apparently the clinic
will pay for my initial cost of supplies and after that they will
hassle my GP until they get him to agree to prescribe them.

I would be very keen on helping raise awareness of pumps in the
UK. Apparently there was a item about pumps last year on Tomorrows
World but I never saw it. Anyway, I was thinking that if we could get
something on TV about pumping that would be brilliant. Problem is
"knowing the right person" for that.

I'm in Manchester BTW.
