Hi Lynne

When basal testing you should avoid protein as this impacts of the blood
glucose, the egg you had for breakfast could have either caused or impacted on
your morning bg,  I know that I've got to have a small amount of insulin to
combat protien other wise my levels will creep up..

Try fasting if you can if not go for something carb free and protein free...

Get a book called "Carbs and cals" by Chris Cheyette & Yello Balolia. I use 1
unit for every 10 grams of Carbs in a meal and for me that seems to works.
