Surely 50:50 is only a starting point - I cannot see how they say that this 
is an 'ideal' split - the ideal split is the one that works for the patient, 
giving them the most stable BG's. Alice needs around 18 - 20% basal, I knbow 
this is considered low, but changing this would result in regular, severe 
hypos. No model will fit everyone - thats why the pumps are so very 
flexible.

If you anticipate an interrogation, arm yourself with recent fasting test 
results - if your Bg's are steady then there is no reason on this earth why 
they should encourage you to fix what aint broken.
