[IPk] Pregnancy and diabetes: Woman's Hour tomorrow morning discusses lack of care and support.

Woman's Hour tomorrow morning will include a discussion about the lack of care
and support for pregnant women with diabetes in the UK.

Radio 4 at 10.00 to 11.00 am if you are unable to listen to the program live,
you may be able to hear it again by going to the "listen again" section.

An article on the standards of care in NI
http://www.crestni.org.uk/publications/diabetes_primary_care_summary.pdf

Women with diabetes have much poorer outcomes of pregnancy than those without
diabetes. CREST has prepared guidelines which seek to address the unacceptably
high perinatal mortality and malformation rates in babies born to diabetic
mothers. To achieve this we require a uniform standard of joint diabetic and
obstetric specialist care in the management of diabetic pregnancy in Northern
Ireland.

Kind Regards

Jackie Jacombs mum of Sasha aged 12, diagnosed 1999, twin sister Rebecca both
coeliac, two older girls, Nicki and Danni, husband Terry
