  I also have this horrible complaint but fortunatley no other complications
that I know of. According to a recent consultation with Prof Anand a specialist
in peripheral neuropathy statins can agrevate the neuropathy so he has written
to my GP stating that I should never be prescribed them.
  I take thiotic acid 600mg per day to slow the progression of the nerve damage.
   Im 42 so not that old. Although I agree some days I feel 60.
