Well done Tessa, at least you are getting some support in a wilderness of
NHS non-funding. Your original consultant was acting as some sort of
policeman for cost-effectiveness. What annoys me as a doctor who used to
work in the NHS, is that the most expensive instrument in medicine is the
doctor's pen! Nobody tells doctors they can't request unnecessary tests or
treatments, yet the doctor can veto your perfectly legitimate request for
support for the ongoing costs of your current diabetes treatment. It beggars
belief !
