[IPk] glucotrol

I have heard that some docs use meformin with insulin ( not only type 2 but
also some type 1) meformin does not act by increasing insulin secretion but
has other effects on glucose metabolism- I think it inhibits glucose output
from the liver and reduces insulin resistance Therefore it may be that
meformin is a viable option in addition to insulin therapy: not sure which
tpye 1s are using it though: may be overweight people who have also become
insulin resistant, not sure about it having any effect on "smoothing out highs
and lows"
