[IPk] ACE Inhibitors / Receptor Blockers?

I was wondering if anyone was using ACE Inhibitors or Receptor Blockers to protect their kidneys?

In the UK they are only given to diabetic patients who are have damage to their kidneys.

When you get a high bg, it increases your blood pressure, this then damages your kidneys.

I've had a some trouble with my kidneys, my diabetes specialist told me they don't prescribe them untill there is something wrong - DOH!
I've been told by my contacts in Sweden that I would already be precsribed ACE Inhibitors or Receptor Blockers to regulate my blood pressure and protect my kidneys.

I've been finding out about them , they can have some pretty horrible side effects (ACE Inhibitors), Receptor Blockers are prescribed if people have side effects from ACE Inhibitors. I was recommended a brand name Receptor Blocker called "Cozaar".
