As others have said: the simple 'switch to the new time' model and 'go
to lowest rate while on the plane, and then switch to new time' models
work fairly well. As does the 'stay on "normal" time while a couple of
hours 'out' for a few days (after all, it's no worse than when the
clocks go back or forwards).

A couple of other things to watch, however: measure blood glucose a lot
: the dehydration of a long flight may mask your usual triggers for
meauring bgs.  And be aware that the pressure imbalance from rapid
descent (Vancouver, how I do love thee) and sunstroke can also mask hypo
and hypers.
