Thanks for that. Maybe I have it now...do you mean:
1. Bgs have gone high (from whatever)
2. You notice you need more insulin (duh)
3. You take more insulin
4. When you look back at your total daily dose, you say to yourself, 'Wow, I 
must have become insulin-resistant because I needed X% more insulin than 
usual yesterday'.

Thank you for working with me on this one...must have lost some brain cells 
in holiday revelry or something... ;) .

I think (for me) that it's because higher BGs generally mean I take more 
insulin (because if my BG is high, I take insulin to bring it down), and the 
more insulin I take daily, the greater my insulin resistance.
I think that's quite a well known phenomenon (or at least, I know several 
other people who also experience this). Sorry if I was a bit misleading.
