RE: [IPk] Jackie

I started pump therapy (and am now funded) despite very good
HbA1c's. My problem was night time hypos and hypers due to
the dawn phenomena. I think you always articulate Sasha's
problems very well and I would hope that you will soon have
the good fortune to find a medical professional who
appreciates your knowledge of the subject (I have always been
very fortunate with my specialists). I think you need to
point out the amount of effort that goes into achieving
Sasha's excellent HbA1c's and the negative impact this has on
the rest of the family. You could emphasise that you wish to
reduce the number of hypos and hypers that Sasha suffers
whilst maintaining her good HbA1c's without adding to the
effect that her diabetes has on the rest of the family.
These are all excellent reasons to try pump therapy in my
opinion although if Sasha's basal rate does not vary too
much, MDI might also be an option.

Best of luck
