my sympathies
many of us have been there, Medical professionals often blaming poor DM
control on the most ridiculous things or trying to kick over the traces as if
not really important
firstly: a pump can mean the difference between poor and good control and
troublesome or only mild hypos
however, other options may help as well, particularly if your problem is
overnight control, such as the new 24 hour insulin ( glargine)- - you would
still take short acting before meals
Really if clinic are no help what is the chance of you being referred
Poor dietary advice is often partly to blame with too much emphasis on healthy
and low fat ( also important of course) and insufficient on carb assessment
and glycaemic index which would help in tailoring insulin to diet
Good luck
