RE: [IPk] Training
I have mine set for 11 hours. It is a safety feature - there was a case in
America I believe that raised the issue - the lady died as a result of diabetic
coma - she lived on her own and the argument was that if she had used this
feature the pump would have stopped pumping insulin into her and worsening the
condition and she may have survived. Ask your trainer and decide for yourself.
There's certainly no harm in having it on and set for a sensible number of hours
so my view is why not use it because it might just save you.

Subject: [IPk] Training
Hi All
I have been a bit quiet. Just started a part time job at Clarks as a trainee
Childs shoe fitter.
Anyway. Lol. I am getting the Paradigm 722 Purple. It is being ordered
tomorrow and has 5 weeks to arrive as I am training on the 31st March. Also
with a day off on the 1st April to monitor my bloods throughout the night and
day every 2 hours and feedback with my nurse. I am then going to go back to
hospital to learn the advanced things, such as bolus wizard and setting a
separate basal rate for when I am at work.
Can anyone explain further on the Auto Off function, I really confused on how
it is a safety feature.
Thanks
Laura
