[IPk] Lots of things!

Hi,

Laura-I wasn't told to restrict any foods infact the opposite was told by my
DSN that this rewrote the diabetes rule book and if I wanted to eat something
that was fine as long as I knew the carb content! Also no psycholigal
assessments that was never even mentioned.

Bethan-I have been on my pump for 2 months now when I first started I wasn't
told to take any time off my DSN said I could go straight back to work, which I
did however the second day on the pump my blood sugars were all over the place
loads of hypos I guess cos of the MDI insulin still left in my system and I was
actually sent home from work cos I was really bad!!!! So I guess you need to see
how you are feeling. For me it was important to just get back to normal as quick
as possible. I was back in work the next day and have been from that point on!
However I hate taking time off work! I am a teacher and find that in all honesty
unless I am dying its far more hassle to pick up the pieces of a class with a
supply teacher than to go in!!!! Some of it is stubborn ness as well!!! Lol!!!!

Batteries- I was also told that at my training that my pump would not accept an
old battery!

Congratulations to all those who have just got pumps or have heard they are
getting them. I wouldnt change mine for the world my control is so much better
and I feel so much better generally.

Take care
MarieXXXXX
