[IPk] Re: ip-uk-digest V2 #950 Re: Pumps&Water

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that water-proof pumps were already
available. The medtronic minimed pumps are the main ones used in Ireland, but I
think Tony O'Sullivan has arranged for diestronic pumps to be made available
here too.
When I have an opportunity to upgrade my pump I will consider the DtronPlus,
but for the moment I'm still very "attached" to my MM508!

Hi Aisling,
Disetronic Dtron Plus can be worn in water but only down to 1meter deep.
This includes salt water. They don't recommend using (wearing) it if water
skiing or high board diving.
The buttons sit in a rubber O ring which wouldn't like sudden pressure.
Don't press any buttons while under water. The basal supply will continue to be
pumped. The pump may also be worn when in a bath or shower.
