Hi, I dont actually know, cos I am not a health care professional, but I am
guessing that the danger is greater from the mothers side cos the baby is in
her body for 9 months. I work with kids on camps every summer, some of whom
have diabetic parents. It may just be coincidence but it does tend to be the
mother in these cases and they tend to be relatively rare. If you are really
worried about it you could always do a home BM on him every so often.
