[IPk] False HBA1c results !

I have just returned from my GP's who advised me that my HBA1c taken on 18
Nov at the local hospital was 6.5. A commendable result. On 29
October I had the HBA1c done at my diabetes clinic and the result was 8.4.
A poor result.

I cannot beleive the HBA1c would fluctuate so wildely over such a short
space of time- and there was nothing unsual taking place over that time
interval in my life.

It is nothing to do with so called 'assays' as the concluding implication of
each professional was quite different. The DSN says my control is poor and
should be tightened up and my GP who specialises in Diabetes says my control
is good and whatever I am doing is right.

One of them is clearly wrong and more significantly for this group it means
HBA1c results cannot be trusted.
