Re: [IPk] CGM?
I am beginning to think about it. Other than the pump issue I am happy with
the clinic (believe it or not). All the staff know me, have followed me
through pregnancy and I feel comfortable there.
I am learning a lot on here. And I have started doing a carb counting
course online, so I have something to show them when I go for my next
appointment. I also have a contact on the periphery of the team who I am
going to get to give me some pointers.
What I don't understand is how people are having pumps offered to them when
they don't even ask for them, as someone on here said is happening to her.
I think what really winds me up is the fact that this is as good as it gets.
No-one has made much effort in finding a way of taking the pressure off
diabetics. I understand a cure isn't really an option, but the fact that a
closed loop system is still not possible, and the technology is so
expensive. Yet I have a high performing Iphone for #30 a month. Drug
companies have no incentive to help. Old Bill Gates could put some of his
charitable efforts into developing medical technology (as well as helping
the third world of course).
Rant over
Helene.
