One possibility, if it works out well timewise for you, is to bolus somewhat
less than usual for previous meal, start exercising about an hour after
eating, turn basal off or very low (10-30% depending on how vigorous
activity will be) - this works for me 80% of the time when swimming (in
which I case I turn pump off and disconnect for an hour) or when hiking. I
do eventually have to eat a small amount of carbs (like a couple of dried
apricots) if hiking for more than an hour.
I have no real idea why it doesn't work for me 100% of the time - but that's
life.
