Re: [IPk] Re: ip-uk-digest V3 #2064

Have you thought about a temp basal a couple of hours beforehand. For
swimming lessons we put on a 50% for 4 hours, an hour beforehand as that is
what we found works. If I were you, I would be wanting to try a 50% or 60%
two hours before to see what happens. You may need extra carbs as well of
course and you may need to continue the temp a few hours after due to any
hypos you may get afterwards, if you do of course.

  Di

How do you find you cope with Basal when doing things like mountain
  biking.

I'm finding gym sessions an issue - unless I start with my sugars around
9-10 mmol (in which case they go down to 7.5-8mmol with 40 mins intense
exercise (I usually disconnect from pump for this) I end up in Hypo if I
start and they're around 6-7 mmol. I then find they rocket in the 1.5
  hours after exercise then plummet.

CANNOT get it right - any suggestions?
