[IPk] diabetes uk and Balance

A lot of recent debate about monitorng as you are probabley well aware
There is now a position statement on the website. Go to information centre and
look under M and monitoring. Basically it says that restricting monitoring is
unacceptable and goes against the NSF / disempowers the patient etc. seeems to
be aimed as much towrds T2 as T1, and doesn't mention specifically avoidance
of hypoglycaemia. But it is a start. Also mentions that someone can have a
good A1c but poor day to day control-
The travel bit at the back is about Germany. It actually mentions that it
would be very difficult to expalin having to eat at a fixed time as almost all
Germans with diabetes are on a flexible DAFNE style regimen. Interesting but
utterly unacceptable that UK patients have been expected to revolve their
lives around their diabetes for the past decade or two
