[IPk] 8 or 10 blood tests a day!

Hi Lesley
I was doing 8 to 10 tests a day in the first 1 to 2 months on the pump.
I really needed to do this because:
1) Need to get every hour of my base rate as good as poss (mine can vary
from 0.6units per hour to 1.3 units/hr)
2) To find out how to give bolus's for meals (eg slow release for toad
in the hole, immediate release for rice based meals)

At present doing 4 to 6 tests a day,as all stable.
But just about to start work as a doctor so intend to do at least 8 a
day, for 2 reasons:
1) So I can adjust to a new base rate
2) So I don't go hypo when treating patients!

Hope shock not too much. This is the "hard work" people talk about when
starting on the pump, not only do you have to do loads of tests, but
work out what they mean!

What!! I thought I was being good doing 4 a day (just to show them I'm
"motivated"). Do all you pumpers do that many? Bring on non-invasive
blood sugar monitoring!

Yours in shock
