I use the D-Tron and usually find it hard to undo things, but not really had
a problem with unscrewing the tube from the adapter.  The only time I had a
problem was when my husband had changed everything for me and had tightened
the tube too much (it cracked the adapter)!  I always carry a spare adapter
about with me as well as the usual stuff, so if I couldn't get it undone I
could change everything.
