I just think its all too hard for a lot of doctors.  Just fob them off with 
mixed insulin, limit the no. of strips they can use, and then when things go 
wrong they can just blame the patient.

It really is shocking.  I was doing some surfing yesterday and came across a 
link to Worthing Hospital. All their IDDM patients are on mixed insulins, 
unless they lead a "varied lifestyle".  Can someone please what a "varied 
lifestyle" is?  Imagine if one of the "specialists" was dxed with IDDM.  I 
bet he/she wouldn't put up with that (in fact, isn't true that most IDDM 
doctors are themselves on pumps????)

It is a national disgrace....
