[IPk] When am I going to start feel confident?

Just like everyone else has already said it can take
some time to get your basal rates sorted out on the
pump. Mine have changed quite a lot since my initial
training session. At that point they were set at total
of 15.5 units in 24 hours. tThis was an estimate and I
have now adjusted the total down to 12.9. I certainly
couldn't have carried out the initial adjustments
without advice from the pump speicialists and I'm very
surprised that you don't seem to have received such
As Diana has said the adjustments that are requireed
are very small. The rules I follow are if I have a
hyop I reduce the basal for the previous 1-2 hours by
0.1 units. If my BM is high I wait a couple of days to
see if this is just a one off or an established
pattern before increasing the basals, again by 0.1.
I would advise you to get back in touch with the
company who supplied he pump and your diabetes team to
try and get some help.
