[IPk] RE: Carelink Upload - Browser problems

This might just help someone finding problems getting Carelink to go
properly, as I did.

It's a pain, but it seems Medtronics Carelink software needs to use the old
Internet Explorer browser because newer ones, like Edge, Firefox and Chrome,
have recently imposed restrictions on the very routines that make Carelink
work! It's to counter a security problem, of course, and I think Safari is
going the same way. However, I have found a work-around for Windows 10.

In Windows 10, Internet Explorer is still there but has to be dug out from
the list of apps. Left click Windows Start button and go to Windows
Accessories, where Internet Explorer will be seen. Right click to pin it to
Start, or click More to find the 'pin to Task bar' option. Either gives an
easy way to run Internet Explorer for occasional use. Enter the Carelink
logon web address and you should be good to go.

Internet Explorer can be set as the default browser via Windows
Start/Settings/Apps/Default Apps and then you can create a Carelink shortcut
on the desktop ... but then you will need to run a newer browser from the
Start menu for general browsing with greater security.

Your version of Windows may have Internet Explorer in a different location,
but it should be there some place!
