RE: [IPk] Removing pump for sport
Hi Karen
Sasha 14 does 3 hours gymnastics training on Saturday. she tests and
corrects if needed, removes the pump for 1.5 hours, the break and she
tests, connects up and does a fixed prime and bolus of around 1 unit.
0.5 if she was low. Sometimes she has a snack and will bolus for this
also. Then off with the pump for another hour and a half and at the end
the same procedure, fixed prime but she doesnt give any insulin at this
point to replace the basal. If high will correct. Saturdays is usually
one of the best days BG levels wise. We do have to remember to put a
lower basal rate on from 8.30 in the evening until around 12.00
