Others have chimed in to say exactly what I shall say: yes, get to a hearing
specialist. You deserve to get along as well as you can in this noisy world!
Audiology is a discipline in the general category of ENT. You should have a
hearing test done by an audiologist in which sounds are played for you and
your ability to hear them is recorded and analysed. This kind of test should
happen at a specialist office or lab. Then you and an audiologist can talk
about possible treatments and coping strategies based on the results.
