[IPk] Pump Problems No Delivery Alarms again
Having a few problems in the last 12 hours or so.
At 11.00 pm when Terry gave a correction bolus we had a No Delivery alarm
again (first on on Wednesday). So we had to do a complete site change late
in the day. We had only just put in a new set in the afternoon. We had
discussions with the hospital earlier in the day and they changed a few
basal rates and when everything worked it worked perfectly!! This morning
we had another "no delivery" alarm when we tried to do the breakfast bolus.
So we phoned the helpline, local rep not up yet, and then told the hospital
what we were doing. So Sasha was off the pump for about an hour as people
kept phoning back just as we were about to do the site change.
We've done all the pump checks and there is nothing wrong with the pump
itself as when not attached it does everything its supposed to do. The
opinion from Medtronic seems to be that the silhouettes aren't in at a
shallow enough angle and therefore hitting muscle and this is causing
resistance. So we have done another set change. Sasha and Beckie are off
school as they both have colds.
Have to see how things go. Not too tired at the moment. Sasha is a star
about having the sets changed and say that they don't hurt her. At the
moment the site is in her abdomen but she is so skinny that there's not much
flesh. We want to change the set to the upper buttocks, but she is very
worried it will hurt more even though I have told her that this is not
likely.
