[IPn] college industrial engineering project

Hello Pumpers and Friends,

A young woman studying to be an industrial engineer is seeking our help

with her final project before graduation. Her project is simplify and
make more interesting those dull boring user manuals that we receive
with our pumps, meters, etc.... Below, you will find her questionaire
for the project.

If you are interested and can take the time, please read and fill out
the questionaire. Who knows..... maybe she will be writing the next
manual you receive with your pump ;-)

Please email your answers to :

Questionnaire
Please fill out this questionnaire directly into this word-document and

mail it back to me. Just write your answer right after each question.

In this questionnaire "manual" means the instruction-material that
comes with your insulin product. You might know it as a piece of paper,

a book or a folder.

Once again thank you for helping me - your answers will form the basis
of my project.

About instruction

o Try to think back to when you got your present injection pen/ insulin

pump.

o How were you instructed? What did you think of the instructions?

o Did you use any form of manual/instruction for your pen/pump at home?

o In connection with your use of the pen/pump, did you have questions
or problems - if yes what kind? How were the problems solved? Did you
find an answer for your questions?
o How much did you use the manual for your pen/pump at home?

o Are you familiar with e-manuals as instruction tool for injection
pens/ insulin pumps?

What is an e-manual?
The e-manual is an electronic version of the package insert
instructions on the Internet. It contains the same information and
instructions as the printed version. The instructions are displayed as
a "movie" with a voice describing each step.

o What do you think of the idea of injection pen/insulin pump
instructions for diabetics in the form of e-manuals?

o What would you expect of an e-manual? What should it contain? Why?

Experience an e-manual
Now, I will introduce you to an e-manual with instructions for the use
of a Novo Nordic insulin pen. It may not be the same brand or product
you use, but that does not matter. My goal is to get your opinion of
the e-manual as a new instruction tool for diabetics. You will find the

e-manual through the following link:

novonordisk.com/diabetes/hcp/injectiondevices/novopen4/default.aspx

Remember to turn on the sound!

the English version and understand as much as you can.

3. Choose "Play the e-manual"

4. Start with menu-step 1 "Getting started". Please look through the
entire manual by clicking "play all steps" under each menu step.

for the e-manual to become a success among diabetics?

o What would prevent you from using an e-manual when looking for
answers to how you use insulin products?

Please add any other comments you may have thought of during the
investigation about the use of manuals or the development of e-manuals:

Thank you for your help
