Re: [IPp] Diabetes Exercise and Sports Assoc. conf.-Marisa

The DESA is a non-profit organization which focuses on managing diabetes for
active people. This was our first time to go to a conference and I'm not
sure how often and where they do it. The conference was great. In the
morning they had a couple of doctors talking about new research and
complications and how to avoid them. They also had a presentation on
products that have recently hit the market or will hit the market soon. In
the afternoon, they had break-out sessions and participants got to choose
which one to go to. I went to managing pump therapy in sports and how to
succeed in school sports with diabetes. Both were very informative. They
also had sessions for spouses of people with diabetes and new research in
children as well as a few others I can't remember. You can become a member
of DESA and will then receive their quarterly newsletter. For more
information, contact them at email @ redacted or 1-800-898-4322.
