RE: [IPp] time on site

Amy,
are you saying that you put IV3000 down and then insert the site through it?
I ask because I am looking for ways to keep the sites on! We just started
putting sites in the belly because the upper bum was getting tired. This
area is so hard to keep sites on because of his activity. I wonder if
putting the IV3000 down first would help? I am currently using the
Softsets, use both adhesives that come with it, then two IV3000. Then, I am
having to add another piece or two of IV3000 everyday just to keep it in
place. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on helping the
situation?
We are also only able to keep sites 2 days before bg levels start to rise.
We are using Humalog. I do not know much about Novolog, but will ask about
it at our next appt in May.

He could be reacting to the material in the cannula or one of it
preparation agents. Some people solve this problem by changing to a
different type of set. Don't overlook the possibility of an allergy
to something in the adhesive that holds the set in place.

This is true!:O) We've switched to the Softsets (from the Tenders) and he
had more skin problems with that adhesive but we've solved that by putting
IV3000 down first. He is terribly allergic to Mastisol so we can't use
that. Btw, we tried the Rapids and had the same results so I don't think
it's the cannula. My mother's instinct tells me the H is irritating him. I
remember on MDIs how he'd c/o of the H hurting when injected. Of course
ymmv as this may not be the answer for anyone else!:O)
