RE: [IPp] Cozmonitor and quicksets

My son pumps with a Cosmo and we use the quicksets. The monitor will just
attach to the existing pump without changing it. That means we should still
be able to use our quicksets. Good Luck!

Patsy

We are trying to get a new pump for Jake and would like to know if the new
cozmonitor with pump and checking machine in one will use the quicksets? We
love
our quicksets! Jake does not have to glue anything or cut anything, or wipe
anything on the site to get them to stay for 4 to 5 days. In fact, I have
caught him just refilling the reservoir w/out changing the site lately.
There
is no
telling how long he leaves them, but our doctor is insisting Jake take over
most of his diabetes related care and I try not to nag too much. Especially
since his A1c's are so good now with pumping. I am hesitant to leave
Minimed
when
he is under such great control and they have always been wonderful about
replacing his pump when something happens within 24 hours. (Once within 12
hours
we had a new pump!) I do like the idea though of the checking machine being
with the pump. It will be so nice since he's a guy and mom's not with him
all
the
time to keep up with it in my purse anymore. I also like the feature on the
Cozmonitor where someone said that you can set the active insulin life for 4

hours. Jake's MMed Paradigm' Bolus Wizard is useless on remaining insulin
because it is set from the factory at 8 or 10 hours. Anyway, if anyone
knows if
the
Cozmonitor pump will let us keep using Mininmed Quicksets please respond so
I
can check that off my list! Jake has been swimming everyday at my sisters
and
he has not lost a sight yet this summer. My grandma always said if it's not
broke don;t try and fix it; and I'm afraid that's what we will be doing if
we
change from Minimed and good control to another pump just because they have
more
stuff!
Thanks, Trena (mom to Jake 13)
